Kailua AYSO Soccer Programs

Fall Season

This is our most popular program.  Fall Season begins in August and ends the first week in November.  Games are played  on Saturdays. AYSO levels of play are determined strictly by age.  A Player's "league age" is determined by how old they are on July 31 before the start of the season.  For example, if a Player's birthday is in August and they turn 8 years old, they will still be on a U8 (Under 8) team because they were 7 years old on July 31st.   Teams are divided by sex and age. 

Here are the Age Groups (as of July 31st):

U5      Age 4  (See Jamboree One with One program below)
U6      Age 5
U8      Age 6-7
U10    Age 8-9
U12    Age 10-11
U14    Age 12-13
U16    Age 14-15
U19    Age 16-18

U5 Jamboree One with One Program

This program for the U5 age group (four-year olds) introduces our youngest Players and their Parents to the game of soccer in a pressure-free environment.  A Jamboree means that teams are formed on a weekly basis depending on how many Players attend a given session.  One with One refers to the concept that each Player will have a Parent or other adult working with them on the field.

Fun Season

The Fun Season is an extension of the regular season for players and coaches in the U5 through U12 divisions who wish to continue playing in January and February.  You may sign up your entire Fall Season team and keep playing together or sign up as individual players and we will create new teams.  It is called the Fun Season to help distinguish it from the Spring Select Season which is composed of teams created by invitation for our most skilled players.  The Fun Season is open to any and all players. Rules are the same as the regular season.

Fun Season games are played on Saturdays in January and February.  Team lists and game schedules will be distributed in mid-December. Teams in the U12 division will probably travel to the Diamond Head region fields to play their games.  Registration for the Fun Season is done in the Fall.  Registration forms can be picked up at the Team Picture Day in September.  


Spring Select Season

The Spring Select Season is a program that allows Regional teams in the U10 through U19 age groups to travel and play against teams from other Regions on Oahu. The Spring Season for the U10 and U12 age groups begins in January and runs through early to mid-March. The Spring Season for the U14 and U16/19 age groups normally begins in mid-March and runs through late May. Games are typically played on Saturdays at various fields locations on Oahu. 

Unlike the Fun Season, Players must be invited to play on a Spring Season team as the quality of play is highly competitive. Players who played during the Kailua AYSO Fall Season are eligible to play on a Spring Season team, which is comprised of Players who possess the highest of soccer skills. The number of teams participating in the Spring Season from the Kailua Region is only limited by the availability of qualified Coaches willing to coach a team.

VIP (Very Important Player) Program

The VIP program provides a quality soccer experience for children whose physical or mental disabilities make it difficult to successfully participate on mainstream teams. Children are paired with Buddies or other volunteers who provide any needed assistance to participate in the game. Our VIP program is an eight-week session that begins in April and is played indoors at the Kailua High School gym. For more information about the VIP Program, click here.
